Photos of the damage
Take photos of the full affected area — not just the worst section. For cracks, photograph the crack pattern across the slab. Include photos that show the edges of the concrete and any areas where water stains or moisture are visible. Wide-angle shots showing the full slab are more useful than tight close-ups.
Note any moisture or drainage observations
Does water come into the garage? Does the floor feel damp after rain? Is there a water stain on the wall above the floor level? Any moisture history is critical context — it changes the repair recommendation significantly.
Access information
Gate dimensions, whether vehicles need to be moved, whether the garage can be cleared, and whether there is access to an outdoor water source for cleanup.
Any relevant history
Has the area been repaired before? When? What was done? Has any tree been removed near the affected area? This context helps identify whether the damage is new, recurring, or progressive.
