Stamped concrete costs more than plain concrete. The size of that premium depends on several variables: the pattern complexity, the color system used, the size of the pour, and the labor and timing required.
Pattern choice and complexity
Simple patterns — a uniform slate or cobblestone with a single color — cost less than multi-color, multi-stamp designs with custom borders.
Color system: hardener vs. integral vs. stain
Color hardener (broadcast onto the surface) is the most common method. Integral color mixed into the concrete provides even, consistent color but costs more. Staining after cure adds additional steps.
Sealer — a required step
Stamped and colored concrete must be sealed after cure to protect the color and pattern. Sealer is a material and labor cost that should be included in any stamped concrete estimate.
